U.S. Should Put Its House in Order Before Criticizing Others
Different countries have different interpretations of human rights. The reason is clear. Every country and society has its own culture and customs. Religion also has to be taken into consideration.
In the Islamic Republic of Iran, the culture is Islam and the traditions, customs, and system of government are all based on Islamic principles. In order to understand Iran, one has to have some knowledge of Islamic principles.
More importantly, the people of Iran went to the polling booths and over 98 percent of the voters cast their ballots in favor of the Islamic Republic when the referendum on the system of government proposed by the late Imam Khomeini was held.
On Monday the U.S. State Department human rights group criticized very many countries including Iran. The same human rights group simply ignores what is going on in the United States, where a system of institutionalized racism and discrimination is oppressing Blacks and Native Americans.
The U.S. should put its own house in order before criticizing others.
